LINE SCULPTURES (1993)

In two exhibitions at HEART (Herning Museum of Contemporary Art), Elle-Mie explores the nature of the west coast of Jutland through painting and sculpture. The exhibitions consist of both paintings and sculpture. The paintings revolve around the special quality of the Jutlandic landscape, the sea and particularly the remarkable bunkers left on the beach from the Second World War. The sculptures – iron boxes filled with concrete and words – describe the west coast with its sand, sea, movement, historical traces and sky. They are now part of the permanent exhibition at HEART.
